Flatpack (re)Fix the Future is a table top roleplaying game for all ages. You and four of your friends play the youth (flexible) born after the end of the world with joy in their hearts, understanding in their minds, and a quest to Fix the Future!
WRENCHes, the youth, adventure in a post-post apocalyptic setting collecting Flatpacks, high tech boxed buildings that you just set, press a button, and BOOM! You now have a hospital! Or a community center! Or a dog park full of mutant dogbae friends!
Flatpack uses a unique system that puts an emphasis on progress and overcoming obstacles. Flatpack use standard RPG dice and a five-act structure to make managing the game (Directing) just as fun and easy as playing!
How Does The Preorder Work?
Simple! We have the digital version in its beta form right now. We’re in the process of printing, but the preorder will let us know how many copies we need.
When you preorder, you’ll gain immediate access to the Flatpack 2E beta PDF. As we collect typo and errata reports, we’ll do those revisions. In the mean time, we’ll order a print proof copy of the beta. This will help us detect problems with the print process. Then, once we have a good-looking book, we’ll order a bunch and ship them out!
When Will We Get It?
The short answer is, “when it’s ready.” The longer answer is that it depends on the printing process. It will not happen before Christmas 2023! But, if you want us to send a cute postcard to your gift recipient, telling them they’re gonna get a copy of Flatpack, we will do that for you! It might be January, February, or March. Can I say it won’t be April or May? No. Because if we tell you a date, the global economy will crash and drive up print costs and eliminate shipping services in the Mad Max style Wasteland. Every proof we order takes about a month. But Flatpack is a relatively simple book by our standards. It’s all black and white, it’s smaller, it’s softcover, so based on similar products we’ve released, it shouldn’t take more than two or three proof copies.
The Day One Patch Book
The Day One Patch book is a free digital bonus to everyone who orders a copy. It adds a little bit of everything! It adds more flatpacks, more character options, more adventures, it’s just a wonderful little pack of stuff that if we added it to the main book, the main book would be a little more bloated and costly than we’d like.
You get it for free! After the preorder stage, we think it’ll be $5. We MIGHT do a physical version of the Day One Patch, and if we do, you’ll get $5 off the price.
For Clarity
The Tankoban is one fat book with all the manuals in one place.
The Table Kit is each manual split by who needs it in individual skinny books. So the Directors section and them character creation are separate. But also we throw in an extra copy of the manual for character creation. Great for sharing around the table!
